Multi Sector - Trade Mission - November 2017

The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Governors and Premiers contracted our services to organize the visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina of 10 US companies from different sectors such as automotive lubricants, satellite technology, magnet-based industrial machinery, hydraulic tools, consumer goods, etc.  We arranged 60 meetings in total with potential business partners and government institutions during the three-day visit and coordinated a briefing by Invest Argentina and US Embassy official, as well as an evening reception at the US Ambassador’s residence in Buenos Aires.  In addition to the customized agenda as part of the trade mission package, each company received a complete market overview report on Argentina for their specific products or services of interest.


Pan-American Games - Trade Mission - July 2016 

We coordinated the visit to Lima of 10 Ontario companies in preparation of the upcoming public tenders for the 2019 Lima Pan American Games. This trade mission included the following activities: a full-day seminar; site visit to Peru’s National Sporting Village; reconnaissance drive through Lima and Callao to visit sporting venues; bilateral meetings with private and public organizations; and organisation of a reception at the Canadian Embassy. This trade mission was prepared for 9 months. During that time, meetings were held with companies and local public organizations. In total, 75 meetings took place between Ontario and Peruvian companies. For these meetings, ground transportation (taxi) and interpretation services where hired.

Invest Hong Kong - Overseas Offices Annual Meeting - December 2017

BusinessHub CEO Veronica Medina attended a 10-day annual meeting for all overseas offices and consultants of Invest Hong Kong as the newly appointed Latin America (except Brazil) office and principal consultant. As such, BusinessHub is in charge of attracting investment for the duration of 2018 of outbound Latin American investment to Hong Kong. A business plan for 2018 was developed.

Multi Sector - Trade Mission - April 2017

Visit of four companies from North Dakota to Peru from April 23-26, 2017. Companies included producers and suppliers of leguminous products such as chickpeas, flaxseed, black beans, pinto beans among others. The objective was to coordinate 6 site visits to supermarkets, gourmet food stores and food manufacturers and distributors; arrange B2B meetings in the Swissotel between the ND companies and Peruvian distributors; and organize a 100-person conference with expert speakers. In total, 6 site visits took place, 37 B2B meetings took place over four hours and 73 people attended the conference. Sales of over US$ 100,000 were made during the B2B meetings.

Residential Fire Alarms - Market Research and Distributor Search Reports - December 2017

Ei Electronics, an Irish manufacturer of high quality fire and carbon monoxide alarms, requested the help of BusinessHub to conduct HS code specific market research in Chile and Colombia in order to determine the potential for Ei’s products in these countries. The report includes an overview of the regulations for fire safety in residential buildings and an analysis of the historical data and trends of imports and sales of fire and carbon monoxide alarms within the residential market in the respective country as well as an investigation into the competition landscape, the main sales channels and import duties and tariffs. Additionally, potential local counterparts were identified and their interest evaluated in each country.

Oil and Gas - Market Reports  - October 2017

Elaboration of two market reports for a Wisconsin-based company, Dairyland on the Peruvian and Colombian markets tailored to the NAICS and HS codes of the company’s products. Reports included a general respective country market overview, a respective country midstream oil and gas market overview based on HS/ NAICS codes and an opportunities section. It also outlined barriers to entry including import tariffs, taxes and regulations, the best approach for market entry and a list of key resources and contacts in the industry. Potential interested local counterparts were identified through which Dairyland could enter both Colombia and Peru.
